New Song

Hey, this is Emerson Day, and my new song, Get Behind Me, is a song that I wrote to remind myself of the power and authority that we have in Jesus Christ. I felt under attack, and I was feeling things like anxiety and worry and fear, and I know that those things are not from my Heavenly Father. Those can only come from the enemy. And so if you feel under attack, if you feel like ground has been lost, this is the moment to take it back. We have power and authority through Jesus Christ and the blood that saved us. He has the final victory and the final say. The Bible says that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and I believe that. So I hope that you will praise today, and you will allow this to be your fight song. So the story behind Get Behind Me, it actually came from something my grandmother used to tell me when I was a little girl. She used to say to my sister and I, anytime that you feel anxious or afraid or confused, that does not come from your Heavenly Father, that comes from the enemy. And you need to tell Him, get behind me in the name of the Lord. And she used to say, you have to say it three times, and each time you say it with a little more authority. And that has stayed with me even now as an adult. It's something that I have used because there is power in the name of the Lord. And I wanted to write this song around that, to give people and myself a fight song and a weapon, and to tap into the power that lives in us through Him, the power of Jesus. There is power in the name of the Lord, and so that's where this song came from, Get Behind Me.
